An Alberta Class 3 driver's licence allows you to operate a single motor vehicle with three or more axles, including many straight trucks, dump trucks, large delivery trucks, and other commercial vehicles.
Our Class 3 driver training is designed to help students develop the knowledge and practical driving skills needed to safely operate larger commercial vehicles and prepare for the Alberta Class 3 road test.

On-Road Training

Air Brake (Q Endorsement) training is available for drivers who will operate vehicles equipped with air brakes.

What Can You Drive With a Class 3 Licence?
An Alberta Class 3 licence allows you to operate:
- Single motor vehicles with three or more axles
- Vehicles normally permitted under a Class 5 licence
- A three-or-more-axle motor vehicle towing a trailer, provided the trailer is not equipped with air brakes
- Class 1, 2, 4 and 6 vehicles as a learner, subject to Alberta licensing requirements
